Myth Number 1: Needing Approval for Your Boudoir
The number one myth in myths about doing boudoir is that you need whether you need approval. Because this kind of photography is popular among women, many people think that they need it as a gift for their partners.

This notion is wrong and misleading. One thing that you need to understand before making that decision is that you don’t need a partner to do boudoir – do it for yourself. While most clients taking these kinds of photos are ladies looking for something to surprise their partners on big occasions like a wedding day, you will have some come for different reasons. Some clients want to have something that will preserve their memories and give them something to admire ten or twenty years to come. Other clients want to create memorable photos as they go through body changes in stages like pregnancy.
Myth Number 2: A Boudoir Session isn’t inclusive
Another misconception people have about boudoir photography is that it is for young, pretty skinny ladies.

The truth is that you don’t need to lose weight before a boudoir photoshoot. The word being pretty or young is out of context. All you need is to believe in yourself because everyone is beautiful in a unique way, so you already have all it takes to rock the podium. Boudoir photography is for everyone regardless of their age, gender, body shape, weight, and complexion.
Myth Number 3: Needing to Wear Sexy Lingerie
The third most contradicting factor is the idea of having to wear sexy or revealing lingerie for your photo session. The sessions are popular with people posing in lingerie to bring out that sensual, intimate feel but, boudoir is more than your attire.

Suppose you look at the magazines or peruse through online boudoir photography, you not help but notice subjects in skimpy lingerie photos. However, the industry is evolving, and it is already beyond skimpy lingerie. You will now come across people taking these photos in pajamas or any other type of sexy clothing. It is now more of what brings that comfort and confidence in you.
