When Kyra came to us for a boudoir session photoshoot in our downtown Sacramento studio, she was a little bit nervous. She told us that boudoir portraits were something that she’s “wanted to do for awhile, but never had the courage to try.” After stumbling upon one of our Instagram posts, and loving the results, she quickly made up her mind. She vowed to “try something new and break out of my comfort zone a bit!” And, boy, were we happy to have her!

 

Boudoir Session Inspiration & Style Goals

Loving the “Girl Next Door” vibe, Kyra’s personal style can be summed up as preppy, simple, and sexy. When asked about her preferred daily wardrobe choices, she’s nailed down the specifics. “I’ve been trending towards the ‘find your uniform’ style – very simple, clean lines, basic colors.” Comfortable in both her boyfriend’s flannel as well as her own lacy thong, her versatility provides near limitless options for clothing choices during her session.

Kyra’s celebrity style icons are The Vampire Diaries’ Phoebe Tonkin, and French make-up artist / Estee Lauder beauty director, Violette. Both boast beautiful brunette locks, and classically good looks. They’re exactly what Kyra is going for!

Kyra brought an energy to our session that was electric. Full excitement, she told us, “I’m doing this for myself, but I plan on buying prints to gift to my boyfriend.” Mentioning his busy work season, she adds, “I thought it might make a nice end-of-season gift!” Very thoughtful!

As a young mother, Kyra has struggled with her body image for years, although she’s working on it. When asked if she loved her body, she replied, “Most days! I am learning to love my stretch marks – I was young when I had my daughter; it’s been a slower process.”

Body positivity is a big part of our boudoir sessions, and Kyra understands why. When pointing out what she liked best about our studio’s portfolio, she mentions loving the variety of models: “They are all real women, and beautiful!”

She’s absolutely right about that, and we’re thrilled to have Kyra with us as one of them!
