While our biggest joy comes from helping our clients see the beauty within themselves that they may not always feel, that isn’t all we do. We also love helping our client make lasting visual memories to share with that special someone in their lives. Visiting our Sacramento Boudoir studio for a Valentine’s Day Mini-Session to surprise her husband, April brought her “A game” – and her own props for our shoot!
With a style she’d describe as “a little bit of everything”, April showed up to our shoot with a stack of her husband’s favorite records and a bright smile. Although the results of our shoot would be a gift, April was also doing this for herself. She’s always been interested in a boudoir portrait session, and now seemed like the perfect time, especially after hearing about us from one of her local friends.
Session Goals & Inspiration
When asked about her view on her body and loving the skin she’s in, April replied honestly: “I have my days when I do.” I think we can all relate!
When discussing her husband, April lights up. “I would describe my husband as alternative,” she told us. “He loves his records; music is his church.” With that tidbit in mind, our primary goals became clear: to make April feel as gorgeous as possible with her first ever boudoir shoot, and to capture some beautiful shots featuring her husband’s two favorite subjects: April, and music.
The Perfect Records
Before arriving, April spoke with her husband about which records would be used for her Sacramento shoot. After some back and forth discussion, they settled on two of his absolute favorites: Deftones’ “Gore” from 2016, and Led Zeppelin’s 1971 classic fourth album, most commonly known as, “Led Zeppelin IV“.
We asked April for some details about what she’d like to see as the end result of her boudoir session. Choosing her eyes, curves, and butt as areas of focus during our session, she specifies that she’d like the “illusion of nudity”. She also tells us that one of the things that stood out the most to her from our gallery of previous sessions was the lighting.
Her wish was our command! April rocked the shoot, just like we knew she would. Check it out!
