Have a boudoir session booked soon? Not sure what to do or how to prep? No problem here are 5 tips to make your boudoir shoot as successful as possible!

1. Stretch Stretch Stretch

Stretching before your shoot has to be one of the most important things you can do. It doesn’t have to be anything extreme, just some easy stretches or light yoga should be just fine. The reason we recommend stretching prior is that it becomes easier to get into photo poses. You’ll be arching your back or putting your legs in positions that you don’t normally do so, stretching will help any tension or tightness!

2. Shop for your Boudoir Shoot Outfits 

Shopping for your outfits might be one of the most exciting parts prior to your session! It’s a perfect excuse to go shopping at some of your favorite lingerie stores and pick out some of your best finds! You can search for some boudoir appropriate outfits online or instore! Make sure you buy a good variety of choices and colors! Some one pieces, two pieces, cute bra and pantie sets are all great choices!

3. Try on your Outfits

It is extremely important you try on these outfits before your shoot. You want to really make sure they fit properly and accentuates your figure. It makes the process much more smoother and a better overall experience if your outfits flatter you! You want your boudoir photos to really pop and great outfit choices will ensure that!

4. Exfoliate and Hydrate

A few days prior to your session, you want to exfoliate your skin to get rid of any dead skin or roughness. This will make you glow during your session and make makeup applications go on much nicer! Hydrate your skin and body by making sure you’re drinking enough water! Know what moisturizer you need for your skin type so your skin looks all smooth and nourished!

5. Stay Calm and Relaxed for your Boudoir Shoot

Finally stay relaxed! I know it can be a terrifying experience because it’s new and it is completely normal to feel on edge or nervous about your shoot. Making sure you’re relaxed allows your poses and pictures to come out more naturally and fluid. You’ll enjoy the experience a lot more when you’re having fun!
